HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The family of lawyer Mohammed Ziane announced today, Monday, that the latter considers himself "in arbitrary detention" since Friday, November 21, 2025, the date that marks the end of the prison sentence imposed on him, which he completed in full without any reduction, according to the family.
The statement added that the family paid a routine visit to lawyer Ziane this morning, Monday, where he announced his decision to enter into an open hunger strike starting today, Monday, November 24, 2025, in protest against his continued detention, demanding what he considers his "right to release after the end of the sentence." The family, in its statement, also expressed its great concern about the health of the lawyer, especially given his advanced age (83 years) and his suffering from chronic diseases, considering that the strike may pose a serious risk to his health. At the same time, the family called on the "wise men of the country" to intervene urgently, first to prevent the strike to protect his health, and second to ensure that the law is applied fairly in his case.
