The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tahraoui, oversaw the official launch of the services of the proximity hospital in Imintanout today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the presence of the governor of Chichaoua province, Bouabid El Krab, and a number of local officials and elected officials.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, the opening of the hospital comes within the framework of the national program to rehabilitate and equip public health facilities, in implementation of the royal instructions aimed at reforming the health system and enabling citizens to have fair access to health care services within the project to generalize health coverage and social protection.
The same source adds that the hospital was built on an area of 50,000 square meters, of which 7,000 square meters are covered, with a budget of 100.5 million dirhams, and a capacity of 45 beds. It aims to bring health services closer to the population and alleviate the burden of travel for the residents of the region, thereby enhancing spatial justice in access to treatment.
To secure services, the Ministry of Health has mobilized 108 professionals, including 9 doctors (5 specialists), 84 nurses and technicians, in addition to 15 technical and administrative staff. More than 101,000 people distributed over 11 municipalities in the Chichaoua region will benefit from the services of this health institution.
The hospital includes – according to the statement – integrated medical facilities that include: the reception department, the general medicine unit, the surgical complex, the obstetrics and gynecology unit, the pediatrics unit, the mothers and children's accommodation wing, the outpatient examination department, the medical and surgical hospitalization department, the analysis laboratory, the radiology department, the pharmacy, the emergency department, the sterilization department, and the delivery unit.
This health institution has also been equipped with the latest biomedical devices, in addition to adopting an integrated information system to improve patient service and facilitate their access to treatments in an organized and rapid manner.
This hospital constitutes an important addition to the health infrastructure in the Chichaoua region, and a basic pillar to enhance the quality of services and an effective response to the expectations of the local population.
