Saudi Arabia and Russia signed an agreement today, Monday, for mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Saudi-Russian Investment and Business Forum held in Riyadh, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The agreement covers all types of passports, including diplomatic, special, and ordinary passports, and allows citizens of both countries to enter without a visa for tourism, business, or visiting relatives and friends, with the possibility of staying for up to 90 consecutive days or at different intervals during the Gregorian year. The agreement was signed by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, while it was signed from the Russian side by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. It is worth noting that the agreement does not include those coming for work, study, residency, or Hajj, as a special visa is required for these purposes. Russia is the first country to sign a mutual exemption agreement with Saudi Arabia that includes holders of ordinary passports.
