The Moroccan artist Saeed Ait Baja, in his interview with the "HIBAPRESS" newspaper during his recent appearance in the "HIBAPRESS Podcast" with Ahmed Sabbar, expressed new statements that attracted the attention of those following artistic affairs. Saeed returned to talk about his artistic path and his experience that extends over two decades, confirming that art for him is not just a creative practice, but rather a "life project" based on commitment, responsibility, and a continuous desire to develop the Moroccan cultural scene.
Regarding his artistic path, Ait Baja recalled his first stations, from his beginnings on the theatrical stage, through his television and film roles that were the reason for the wide audience to get to know him, up to his supervision of national artistic and theatrical festivals, which allowed him to win the Best Actor award on five occasions, confirming that all these stations contributed to shaping his vision about the necessity of collective and institutional work to serve art and the artist. Saeed added in his speech that the challenges faced by the new generation of creators require the existence of training spaces, and support for guidance and framing programs in the perspective of a product capable of global competitiveness, especially in light of the debate that accompanied "schools of leadership" which sparked a wide controversy within the artistic and educational arena, considering that the evaluation of this experience must be done calmly and by adopting scientific standards, far from hasty reactions based on narrow political interests.
The artist stopped at the Moroccan Federation of Gathering Artists, shedding light on the role played by the President of the National Rally of Independents Party, Aziz Akhannouch, in supporting the establishment of this framework as a space that brings together artists and enables them to express their opinions and organize their energy within a strong institution, confirming that the Federation does not practice direct partisan politics, but rather aims to create a bridge between the artist and the decision-maker, and to defend the issues of creativity, and to improve the social and professional status of artists. In his speech about the photos that brought him together with some artists, in addition to a photo that gained wide circulation that brought him together with the former head of government Abdelilah Benkirane, Ait Baja explained that art is an open space, and that his human relationships are not related to political or partisan calculations. He added that communicating with various political or cultural figures is part of his role as an artistic actor who seeks to build bridges of dialogue, not walls of division, stressing that "the artist must remain above political entanglements", and that he considers all these meetings normal, and reflects his respect for everyone without any alignment. Saeed Ait Baja concluded his speech by emphasizing that the future of creativity in Morocco needs new cultural governance, and to strengthen investment in training, and support initiatives that link art to local development, pointing out that public debate today should focus on formulating policies capable of keeping pace with the aspirations of young artists.
