A cleaning worker died early Saturday after being run over by a truck on Al-Quds Street near the "Old Market" in the Al-Awama area of Tangier, while she was going to her daily work.
The accident occurred around five o'clock in the morning, according to local sources, who indicated that the driver did not stop after the collision, but fled the scene quickly, leaving the victim's lifeless body on the ground as a result of her severe head injuries. The Civil Defense and police officers immediately moved to the scene, where the worker's body was transferred to the morgue at the Duc de Tovar Hospital. The security services are conducting an urgent investigation to identify the fleeing driver and uncover all the circumstances of the accident, which left a wide shock among the residents of the area.
