Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday ordered the evacuation of 14 settlement outposts and the arrest of 70 people accused of using violence against Palestinians.
Israeli Channel 12 clarified that "the settlement outposts are illegal and are classified as a source of Jewish terrorism and national crime, and the security services are preparing to deal with the settlement outposts and the rioters who live in them." The channel explained that Netanyahu decided to arrest 70 activists who took refuge in farms and settlement outposts to launch "violent acts of violence" from them, most of which were against Palestinians. Israeli security officials said about these illegal settlement outposts: "These farms have become forward points from which raids are launched on Palestinian villages," and they have recently observed the phenomenon of touching the symbols of the state and inciting against Israel, such as harming soldiers and police officers. Meanwhile, the channel quoted a political source as saying: "The Prime Minister is not at all concerned with clearing the settlement outposts. The Prime Minister held a meeting with senior security officials and social figures, with the aim of dealing with a group of young people who are outside the law, who do not belong to the settlement and do not represent it. Any other address is wrong and false."
