HIBAPRESS
In a security operation to combat fraud and protect consumers, elements of the Ben Guerir gendarmerie seized last Saturday, December 6th, a large quantity of "harissa" sauce unfit for consumption, amounting to about a ton, with the driver admitting to selling a similar quantity to a merchant who later denied it.
The inspections showed that the product was stored in unsanitary conditions, and ONSSA analyses confirmed its danger to consumer health, which prompted the Public Prosecutor's Office to order its confiscation and destruction. The investigation also extended to a cannery in Kalaat Es-Sraghna suspected of being linked to the shipment, and it was raided and a judicial guard was appointed, pending a technical visit from ONSSA to inspect the safety of the materials and take the necessary measures, while investigations continue to determine responsibilities.
