HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The annual report of the General Directorate of National Security revealed significant efforts made during the current year to enhance security readiness. A significant number of police officers underwent practical field training that focused on developing their professional skills and increasing their capabilities in the areas of inspection and security surveillance, keeping pace with the increasing security challenges and ensuring the effectiveness of field interventions.
Within the framework of supporting sports security, the Directorate has strengthened the specialized provincial departments and teams, especially in the cities of Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Fez, and Tangier, by providing the necessary human resources and supporting them with qualified elements capable of securing major sporting events, in line with the proactive approach adopted to ensure the safety of the fans and participating teams.
The report also indicated the appointment of 3,387 female and male police officers who graduated this year to work within the security leaderships that will oversee the security of the African Cup of Nations football matches, in a step that reflects the early preparation for this continental event. This measure aims to provide tight security coverage and an organized system that reflects the professionalism of the security services and enhances the image of Morocco as a country capable of hosting major events.
