The International Federation of Football (FIFA) announced the introduction of a new price category for 2026 FIFA World Cup™ tickets exclusively for fans of the qualified national teams, amidst unprecedented demand in the current sales phase, which has recorded 20 million requests so far.
FIFA explained that this new category, called "Tickets for Participating Teams' Fans," is priced at $60 per ticket and will be available for all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final match. This step aims to support fans wishing to travel between host cities to follow their national teams. These tickets will be allocated exclusively to fans of the qualified teams, with the relevant national associations overseeing the selection and distribution process, with each association defining its own eligibility criteria, provided that these tickets are directed only to fans of the relevant national team. In this context, 50 percent of each participating national association's allocation will be allocated to the least expensive ticket category, distributed between the Supporter Value Tier at 40 percent and the Supporter Entry Tier at 10 percent, while the remaining percentage will be distributed equally between the Supporter Standard Tier and Supporter Premier Tier. FIFA also confirmed that fans who applied through member associations' allocations and whose teams did not qualify for the knockout rounds will be exempt from administrative fees when processing unsuccessful refund requests. This decision comes in the context of the exceptional demand for 2026 World Cup tickets, where the random draw phase began on Thursday, December 11, 2025, and continues to witness increasing demand since the announcement of the match schedule, host cities, and start dates, with the approach of the edition that is considered the largest in the history of the tournament, scheduled to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19, 2026. The International Federation of Football indicated that the random draw phase will remain open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time, i.e., 17:00 Central European Time, confirming that the timing of fans' registration during the registration period does not affect the chances of success. Those wishing to view the full details and enter the draw can do so via the FIFA.com/tickets website. FIFA, as a non-profit organization, confirmed that it reinvests the World Cup revenues to develop men's, women's, and youth football within the 211 member national associations, expecting to reinvest more than 90 percent of its investment budget for the 2023-2026 period in the development of the game globally.
