Police elements at the judicial barrier at the entrance to the city of Oulad Teima, Taroudant Province, arrested Professor Nezha Majdi this afternoon, Thursday, December 18th, before taking her to the police headquarters in the city, in the framework of implementing a final judicial ruling against her.
According to information from the family of the person concerned, the arrest took place while Professor Nezha Majdi was heading towards the city of Agadir to take care of personal matters, where she was stopped routinely to implement the previously issued ruling. This measure comes against the backdrop of the prosecution of Professor Nezha Majdi because of her participation in the protests known as the "Battle to Drop the Contract Plan", which is the struggle waged by a number of female and male teachers to demand job stability and reject the contract employment system. The Primary Court had sentenced Professor Nezha Majdi to three months in prison, before the Court of Appeal upheld the same ruling, thus becoming final and enforceable in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
