Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football, announced the increase in the financial prize money for the Africa Cup of Nations competition, which Morocco will host from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
During the press conference that followed the CAF Executive Committee meeting, Motsepe confirmed that the decision had been officially adopted, noting that the team winning the title would receive a financial grant of $10 million, instead of the $7 million that the Ivory Coast national team received after winning the previous edition. It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team will face Comoros tomorrow, Sunday, in the opening of the Africa Cup of Nations at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, starting at eight in the evening Moroccan time.
