The Moroccan national team maintained its strong presence among the world's top teams, finishing the year 2025 in eleventh place globally according to the latest ranking issued by the International Federation of Football (FIFA), while simultaneously strengthening its position as the best African team.
The "Atlas Lions" have 1716.34 points, surpassing established teams like Italy (twelfth place), Colombia, and the United States of America, and approaching Croatia, which ranked tenth, by a limited margin, reflecting the continuity of positive results and efforts made throughout the year.
This ranking also reinforced the Moroccan national team's position in the African continent, with its closest competitor, Senegal, dropping to 19th place, while the Algerian team came in 34th globally, making Morocco the top contender to prove its continental dominance in the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which started with an important win over the Comoros with a clean double.
This ranking gives a strong moral boost to the "Atlas Lions" to continue their strong performance and turn global superiority into a long-awaited continental achievement, at a time when the world ranking witnesses intense competition among the top teams, with the Spanish national team leading with 1877.18 points, followed by Argentina in second place with 1873.33 points, and France in third place with 1870 points, reflecting the small difference and the fierce competition for the top spot in world football.
