HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
As part of the field mobilization to address the exceptional climatic conditions experienced by the mountainous areas of Taourirt province, and due to the snowfall and rainfall that affected the highlands in recent days, Bader Boussif, the governor of the province, paid a field inspection visit on Tuesday, December 23rd, to monitor the progress of snow removal and the opening of road paths in the Zawaa region, which is affiliated with the Debdou district.
This visit falls within the context of the regional authority's keenness to ensure the continuity of traffic and break the isolation of the rural population, especially in light of the significant drop in temperature and the difficulty of accessing a number of mountainous villages. This field intervention comes within the framework of activating the regional action plan to address the effects of the cold wave and snowfall, which is supervised by the Regional Alert Committee, headed by the governor of the province. This committee works to coordinate the interventions of various relevant departments, to ensure the protection of the population, especially vulnerable groups and the population of rural and mountainous areas, and to ensure safety conditions and rapid handling of urgent cases. These field efforts reflect the regional authorities' keenness to interact quickly with various climatic challenges and to establish the principle of proximity to the population, and to guarantee the right to movement and basic services, especially in the mountainous areas that remain most exposed to the cold wave and snowfall.
