Ouarzazate police free elderly man held by family for over 20 years

Members of the judicial police affiliated with the regional command of the royal gendarmerie of Ouarzazate were able to free an elderly man who had been held by his family for more than 20 years at his home.
According to a local source, the elderly person who was found tied hand and foot was released, on the instructions of the public prosecutor, inside his home at the Taghzout roundabout in the commune of Amrozagan.
The same source added that the person concerned was detained under the pretext of suffering from psychological and mental disorders, stressing that he was found to be in a difficult state of health and psychological health.
According to the same source, the competent authorities transferred the elderly person to the hospital and an investigation has been opened to reveal the details of the incident.
