HIBAPRESS – Sports
Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat underwent a light individual training session after the recurrence of the injury he had previously sustained following a strong collision with his teammate Isco during one of Real Betis' matches.
Available data indicates that the medical staff preferred to handle the player's situation cautiously, contenting themselves with a special training program without risking his participation in group sessions, pending an assessment of the development of his health condition in the coming hours, which makes his participation in the match against Mali highly doubtful. The possibility of Amrabat's absence is not limited to the physical aspect only, but is also related to the technical staff's choices, given the availability of several alternatives in his position capable of providing added value at the level of offensive build-up and controlling the pace of the game, which may prompt the coach to give him rest to avoid any potential complications. The final decision regarding Amrabat's participation is expected to be made before the match based on the results of medical examinations and the extent of his physical readiness, especially since the match against Mali requires players at the highest degrees of physical and tactical readiness.
