A young man in his twenties died this Wednesday evening in a tragic accident that occurred in the municipality of Imtalsa, belonging to the province of Driouch, after he was swept away by floods resulting from heavy rains that swept through the Shaaba Wadi Al-Hamam while he was trying to cross the valley on his motorcycle.
According to local sources, the young man tried to proceed despite the strength of the water, but the floods swept him away for a long distance, before his body was found a short time later. Civil Protection and Royal Gendarmerie elements rushed to the scene of the accident immediately upon receiving the report, where the rescue teams were able to retrieve the body. It was transported to the morgue of the regional hospital, while the authorities opened an investigation to find out the details and circumstances of the accident. It is worth mentioning that this incident has sparked a wave of sadness among the residents, and reopened the debate about the urgent need to provide safe crossings and passages over the valleys, to protect the lives of citizens, especially during times of heavy rainfall.
