On Thursday, December 25, 2025, the governor of Rehamna Province supervised the official launch of the regional campaign to generalize registration in the civil status records at the prefecture headquarters, in the presence of the Attorney General at the Court of First Instance in Ben Guerir, Hakima El Bahti, representatives of the local and security authorities, heads of municipalities, and civil status officers.

The meeting clarified that the campaign primarily targets adult women who do not have documents proving their identity, in addition to children not registered in the civil status or of unknown parentage, with the aim of ensuring the right to identity and access to basic services.

The governor of the province affirmed that the right to legal identity constitutes a fundamental entry point for benefiting from social and economic rights and for ensuring fair access to public services, considering that registration in the civil status is a condition for schooling, health coverage, and social support programs.

The territorial official recorded an encouraging outcome during the previous national campaign, where more than 2,900 people were registered, and the rate of generalization reached 100% in some municipalities, while the overall average exceeded 96% at the provincial level.

The governor of Rehamna stressed that these results came thanks to the mobilization and coordination between the interveners, headed by the Public Prosecution, which contributed to simplifying procedures and expediting the adjudication of files, in addition to the local and security authorities, heads of municipalities, authorized employees, and civil society organizations.

The Attorney General at the Court of First Instance in Ben Guerir, Hakima El Bahti, highlighted the involvement of the Public Prosecution in the success of the campaign, considering it a mechanism to protect the basic rights of vulnerable groups, especially women and children, and linked this to the follow-up of the Kingdom's national and international commitments, especially the Marrakech Declaration 2020 on the elimination of violence against women.

The Attorney General added that the registration of events in the civil status has a preventive dimension to reduce school dropouts and combat child marriage, and to ensure access to justice and social services, while emphasizing the facilitation of legal procedures and the acceleration of processing requests in a manner that takes into account the best interest of the child and preserves the dignity of women.

The speakers concluded that the campaign reflects a common will to consolidate the right to identity and enhance social justice, and to avoid excluding any person from enjoying their basic rights.
