Morocco and Paraguay have crossed a new phase in their cooperation, by adopting a joint declaration aimed at structuring and accelerating the implementation of joint projects.
On the occasion of the working visit to Rabat by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, and his discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the two sides agreed to intensify their cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, logistics, agriculture, air transport, and tourism. The two countries aspire to build a sustainable Atlantic economic partnership, based on the integration of their qualifications: Morocco as an industrial and logistical hub in Africa, and Paraguay, which is a major player in the agricultural industry and hydroelectric power in South America. The two ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), with a view to consolidating a balanced and solidarity-based partnership between the two sides of the South Atlantic Ocean. Bourita praised the economic vision of President Santiago Peña, based on social justice and productive modernization, while Ramírez Lezcano highlighted the importance of the major African initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, especially the Atlantic African states process, the initiative to facilitate access to the Atlantic Ocean for the Sahel countries, and the African-Atlantic gas pipeline, as major integrated projects that serve common prosperity.
