HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The second edition of the "Business Ready" report, issued by the World Bank Group today, Monday, confirmed that the Kingdom is no longer just a participant in the race to attract investments, but has become a regional and continental benchmark in the quality of the business climate.
Figures Reflecting Great Ambition
By scoring 63.44 points, Morocco succeeded in recording a qualitative leap that surpassed global, Arab and African averages, thus consolidating its position in second place at the level of the African continent and the Arab world, thanks to government reforms. This superiority was not a coincidence, but came as a result of exceptional performance in strategic axes; Morocco scored very high points in the efficiency of public utilities services (80.05), international trade (74.5), in addition to facilitating the procedures for establishing and localizing companies. These figures translate into a new reality characterized by administrative flexibility and commercial openness, which enhances the confidence of international actors in the "Moroccan brand".
Structural Reforms with a Royal Vision
This tangible improvement is considered the fruit of the direct launch of bold reforms launched by the government, especially the implementation of the roadmap to improve the business climate 2023-2026. The tight coordination between various sectors and public institutions, under the supervision of the National Committee for the Business Climate, played a decisive role in improving the regulatory framework, which recorded 70.06 points, and the progress in the areas of competition and dispute resolution reflects the state's will to provide comprehensive "legal security" that protects private investments and stimulates growth. Despite the challenges imposed by the second edition by including a wider sample (101 economies) after it was 50 economies, Morocco proved the resilience of its economic model, as it today has a historic opportunity to continue this momentum by accelerating digital transformation, adopting an "open data" policy, and improving the exchange of services. It is expected that betting on digitizing administrative paths and reducing the deadlines for services will make Morocco the first destination for investments seeking stability, efficiency and sustainability in the region.
