The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Tahraoui, revealed that the reform of the national health system has entered an advanced stage of implementation, through the launch of "Territorial Health Groups" (GST) as a new mechanism aimed at promoting health equity and improving regional management, in implementation of royal directives and the provisions of Framework Law 06.22.
The Minister confirmed in the Council of Advisors that the experience of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region formed a successful model, where these groups brought together under one umbrella a university hospital, 28 hospitals, 295 health centers, and more than 7,000 professionals, which contributed to accelerating decision-making and improving the follow-up of the patient's treatment path through a unified information system.
The new reform of the Territorial Health Groups focuses on three priorities: bridging the gap in human resources by expanding training and recruitment, improving working conditions and incentivizing health cadres, and ensuring the fair distribution of human resources, especially in remote areas, with the gradual generalization of the experience to the rest of the regions of the Kingdom during the year 2026.
