HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ould Ali
From Ajdir in Al Hoceima, where the sea and the mountain coexist in deep silence, Mohammed Mohammed Khattabi's journey began. The place was not just a geographical starting point, but a reservoir of human values that accompanied him in all his stations. There, his first sense of listening was formed, and his awareness that communication is a cultural act before being a position or function, and that opening up to the world does not mean abandoning roots.
Khattabi combined literature, diplomatic work, and media, and was present in every field with the same calm and alert spirit. He forged human and cultural relations extending across continents, not only by virtue of his diplomatic status, but also thanks to a high communicative sense and an ability to build trust and get closer to others without artificial distances. He saw cultural dialogue as an essential tool for bringing peoples closer, and in shared knowledge a basis for permanent understanding.
In his professional career, he accumulated a balanced diplomatic experience, during which he held the positions of political and cultural advisor and charge d'affaires at the Moroccan embassies in Madrid, Tripoli, Mexico, and Peru. He was also consul general in the Canary Islands and Madrid, and dean of the consular corps accredited there. This path was crowned by his appointment as an ambassador plenipotentiary and extraordinary to the Kingdom of Morocco in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama…, where he represented his country with sobriety and an active presence.

This path has received international recognition and was crowned with several medals, including the Order of the Highest Democratic Merit "Simon Bolivar" awarded to him by the Colombian House of Representatives in 2008, and the Order of "San Carlos" with the rank of Grand Cordon from the President of the Republic of Colombia, an order awarded to personalities who have made qualitative contributions in the field of international relations and the promotion of cooperation between countries.
In addition to the diplomat, the writer remained present with a diverse and encyclopedic production of interests. He wrote in multiple genres, and worked on issues of language, culture, and thought, and was responsible for "Fixed Doors" in the journal Al-Lisan Al-Arabi, published by the Arabization Coordination Office of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO), contributing to the consolidation of cultural dialogue and the defense of the Arabic language in a calm and deep language.
In Mohammed Mohammed Khattabi, professional experience meets cultural awareness, and public office meets human sense. He is a model for a path that has left its mark on cultural and diplomatic life with tranquility, far from the spotlight, believing that culture is the deepest form of presence, and that man remains the essence of every message, from Ajdir Al Hoceima to the horizons of the world.
