The rural brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie in Khmis Metouh, under the gendarmerie of El Jadida, arrested yesterday, Monday, at approximately six o'clock in the evening, within the Sidi Ismail district of El Jadida province, specifically in the "Al-Freyimat" area, belonging to the municipality of Khmis Metouh, adjacent to the municipality of Oulad Frej, a drug dealer with a criminal record. He was wanted under a national search warrant for the unlicensed trade in alcoholic beverages.
The retail drug dealer was caught during his arrest by the mobile gendarmerie patrol, which was conducting routine cleansing and combing campaigns within its territorial jurisdiction, in possession of 12 kilograms of cannabis stems, 10 kilograms of tobacco leaves, and a sum of 5,000 dirhams, obtained from the proceeds of drug sales, and a large knife. A search of the detainee's home also resulted in the seizure of a quantity of hashish. This, and the gendarmerie intervenors seized the seized items, for the benefit of the investigation being conducted by the judicial police of the arrested drug dealer, whom they placed under custody. After reviewing the facts, the Public Prosecution at the El Jadida Court of First Instance ordered the seized items to be referred to the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration in El Jadida, and the presentation of the arrested drug dealer immediately after the completion of the misdemeanor procedure. In addition, the operation carried out by the Khmis Metouh gendarmerie center falls within the framework of the security campaigns, which continue and are being continued at full pace by the regional command of the Royal Gendarmerie in El Jadida, to dry up the sources of retail drug trafficking, and to arrest the wanted individuals.
