HIBAPRESS – Italy: Abdelatif El Baz
The Italian-Moroccan Association Network for Rights and International Cooperation warned of the soaring and unjustified increase in air and sea transport ticket prices between Italy and Morocco, considering that this high cost undermines the right of Moroccans abroad to travel and burdens Moroccan families residing abroad.
The network stated that it has written to the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the Parliament, and the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans residing abroad, demanding urgent intervention, especially with the approach of peak periods such as the summer holidays and the "Marhaba" operation. It affirmed that the current prices no longer take into account the purchasing power of families, especially middle- and low-income families, which deprives thousands of Moroccans from visiting their homeland and contributing to the national economy. The network called for a preferential pricing for Moroccans abroad, the strengthening of air and sea offers, and the curbing of monopolies, with the involvement of civil society abroad in addressing this file. It concluded by calling on the authorities to assume their responsibilities to ensure dignified and fair travel for Moroccans abroad, in line with the high royal directives.
