National Security elements at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested, on the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026, a citizen holding both French and Algerian nationalities, and prevented him from leaving the national territory, in implementation of a judicial decision issued by the competent authorities, within the framework of applying the legal procedures in force.
The police services at the airport intervened while the person concerned, aged 30, was preparing to board a French Airways flight bound for Paris, where the security screening revealed that he was the subject of a judicial procedure that prevents him from leaving the national territory, and he was informed of the content of the decision under the supervision of the competent public prosecution. News revealed that the prevention process took place legally and smoothly, adding that the judicial decision came against the backdrop of data related to a case presented to the judiciary, without recording any violation or transgression during the implementation of the security procedure at the airport. This development came after the circulation of a video clip on social media, in which the person concerned appeared to be directing insults and abuse against the residents of the city of Marrakech, following the spread of other recordings related to verbal assaults against Moroccan citizens, which sparked a wave of widespread resentment within public opinion. The same sources confirmed that a number of citizens submitted official complaints and notifications, which enabled the security services to accurately identify the identity of the suspect, before notifying the Public Prosecution, which decided to issue a border closure measure, pending subjecting the person concerned to judicial investigation and taking what is legally necessary against him.
