HIBAPRESS
Human rights organizations reported that the crackdown accompanying the protests across Iran has resulted in the death of at least 538 people as of Sunday, amid fears that the actual number of victims may be higher than that.
This comes at a time when Tehran has warned that the US and Israeli armies will be considered “legitimate targets” if the United States resorts to using force to protect the protesters.
The “Human Rights Activists News Agency,” based in the United States, explained that more than 10,600 people were arrested during two weeks of protests. The agency is known for its credibility in covering previous waves of unrest inside Iran, as it relies on a network of local activists to verify information through multiple sources.
In light of the interruption of internet services and disruption of communication lines within Iran, monitoring and assessing the size of the protests from outside the country has become more difficult.
