HIBAPRESS. The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco recorded an unprecedented jump in commercial revenues, with revenues rising by more than 90 percent compared to previous editions, making it the most profitable tournament in the history of the Confederation of African Football.
The CAF attributed this achievement to the increase in the number of sponsors to 23, compared to 17 in the 2023 edition and only 9 in the 2021 edition, in addition to the significant expansion in broadcasting rights and the entry into new markets for the first time, including China, Japan, Brazil and Turkey, as well as adopting a data-analysis based strategy to target promising global audiences and markets. The tournament witnessed the continued support of traditional partners such as TotalEnergies, Orange, Visa, and Puma, with the launch of the eAFCON esports tournament in partnership with Konami and eFootball, in a move that enhances commercial value and expands the follower base. The Morocco 2025 edition confirms the transformation of the Africa Cup of Nations into a global sporting and economic product, before the curtain falls on the competitions with the final match between Morocco and Senegal, and the third-place match between Egypt and Nigeria.
