The Moroccan national team continues its quest to write a new page in its continental history, seeking its second title in the African Cup of Nations after a single crowning that dates back to the 1976 edition.
This is the third final for the Atlas Lions in the history of the competition, which started in 1957, after reaching the 1976 Ethiopia final and the 2004 Tunisia final.
Morocco also aspires to dedicate the thirteenth title to the Arab football in the continental championship, and the first since the 2019 edition hosted by Egypt and won by the Algerian national team.
In contrast, the Senegalese national team enters the final with the ambition of winning its second title, after reaching the final scene for the fourth time in its history after the 2002, 2019 and 2022 editions. This is the third final for the Lions of Teranga in the last four editions, as they previously reached the semi-finals on six occasions, including the 2006 edition when Egypt eliminated them with a 2-1 victory.
Today's match is not limited to a title battle only, but represents a new test for African football between two teams that have experience and ambition, in a football evening that is expected to remain firmly rooted in the memory of the tournament.
