The city of Ifrane witnessed, in recent hours, heavy snowfall that covered its various neighborhoods and surrounding areas, transforming it into a charming natural painting that attracted the attention of residents and visitors, in a breathtaking winter scene that reflects the city's uniqueness, known as the capital of snow in Morocco.
In contrast, these falls caused the interruption of a number of road axes, especially national and regional roads linking Ifrane and the rest of the neighboring cities, due to the accumulation of snow and poor visibility in some sections. According to a source from the scene, the teams of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, in coordination with the local authorities, continue their field interventions intensively in order to remove snow and open roads for traffic, with the use of snow-clearing mechanisms and technical teams working around the clock to ensure the safety of road users. In the same context, the Regional Vigilance Committee is playing its role, by closely monitoring the situation, and taking the necessary proactive measures, especially with regard to assisting the affected population, ensuring the supply of basic materials, in addition to monitoring road conditions and intervening when necessary. In this framework, the pivotal role of the local authorities in keeping abreast of the field situation is highlighted, especially at the level of the rugged mountain villages and hamlets, where they work to provide the necessary assistance to the population affected by the cold wave and snowfall, by breaking the isolation of the concerned areas, providing logistical support and essential materials, and intervening quickly when any emergency case is recorded, within the framework of a solidarity approach that aims to protect citizens and ensure their safety during these difficult climatic conditions. The authorities call on citizens and road users to take caution and be careful, respect safety instructions, and postpone unnecessary movements, especially in mountainous areas, until the weather conditions improve and the situation returns to normal. This snow cover, despite the logistical challenges it imposes, remains a source of tourist attraction that enhances Ifrane's position as a winter destination par excellence, pending the melting of the snow and the return of traffic naturally.
