The White House announced that US President Donald Trump's Air Force One was forced to return to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland shortly after taking off on Tuesday evening due to a minor electrical fault on board.
The White House explained that the malfunction occurred while the President was heading to Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum, where the aircraft crew decided to return as a precautionary measure immediately upon discovering the fault. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the problem was minor and did not pose any risk, noting that it related to some cabin lights, according to The New York Times. Later, President Trump resumed his trip to Davos on another plane to participate in the forum's work. Air Force One is one of the most prominent symbols of the American presidency, as it consists of two aircraft specially equipped to transport the President with the highest safety standards, and includes integrated facilities including a presidential suite, advanced medical facilities, and a capacity of up to 76 passengers, served by a crew of 26 people.
