HIBAPRESS: A landslide that occurred on Saturday in West Indonesia resulted in the death of at least eight people, while more than 80 people are still missing, according to local authorities.
The National Disaster Management Agency explained that the incident occurred in the West Bandung area of West Java province during the early hours of Saturday morning, noting that 83 people were reported missing by noon. Indonesia experiences such disasters frequently during the rainy season, which extends from October to March. The saturation of the soil with water, along with deforestation, increases the risks of landslides and flash floods in a country that has recently suffered similar incidents that have claimed the lives of hundreds.
