Local authorities in Ifrane province managed, yesterday Wednesday, July 17 at noon, to extinguish a forest fire that broke out in mysterious circumstances and for unknown reasons in a factory known as a highly flammable and fast-spreading fire in the Al-Kadiyat area, 3 km from the outskirts of the city of Ifrane, located under the territorial control of Ifrane province.
As soon as they were informed of this fire, all regional and local authorities mobilized, led by the Secretary General of the Province of Ifrane, accompanied by civil prevention teams, auxiliary forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Royal Armed Forces, the Regional Equipment Service, the Regional Directorate of Water and Forests, the Regional Council of Ifrane, elected councils and many volunteer residents.
Thanks to the vigilance and urgent intervention of all the aforementioned services and the close coordination between them, which is part of the regional firefighting plan, despite the high temperature and the blowing of turbulent winds, all the intervening teams were able to control this fire in a short time, and the affected area was estimated at about 15 hectares, covered with plants known as Al-Shadida, easy to ignite and spread fire quickly.
The intervention process brought relief to the inhabitants of the area, ensuring their safety and preserving the natural heritage of the area.
Civil protection officers were able to completely control the fire, while a judicial investigation was opened to determine the causes of the fire, which remain unknown to this day.
