The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Monday, January 26, the launch of a procedure concerning Algerian citizens residing abroad in an irregular situation, calling on them to contact Algerian diplomatic and consular representations to settle their legal status.
The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified in an official statement that this procedure falls within the framework of a decision issued by the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which aims to settle the status of citizens residing abroad in precarious or irregular conditions, and who are subject to judicial or administrative procedures related to minor violations affecting public order or similar facts. The statement affirmed that those concerned can benefit from this procedure in order to regularize their legal status and return to Algeria in an organized manner, provided they commit to not repeating the actions that were the cause of their prosecution. For this purpose, the ministry called on the concerned citizens to go to the Algerian embassies and consulates in their countries of residence, submit settlement requests, and submit the required files. This procedure comes a few days after a French channel broadcast a serious investigation that made serious accusations against the Algerian regime, which made the Kabranat regime accept to receive its irregular migrants residing abroad.
