Hassan Tariq, the Ombudsman of the Kingdom, stated today at the House of Representatives in Rabat, during the study meeting organized by the Justice, Legislation and Human Rights and Freedoms Committee, and dedicated to presenting and discussing the annual report of the Ombudsman Institution, that the institution processed a total of 5774 grievance files during the period covered by the report.
Tariq explained in his presentation to the committee members that the Ombudsman Institution also dealt with 1158 urgent communications, within the framework of its interaction with urgent issues, highlighting that this data reflects the amount of work undertaken by the institution and its increasing role in addressing citizens' complaints and promoting mediation between the administration and users. The annual report revealed, according to what was presented during the meeting, that most of the grievance files relate to specific sectors, headed by the interior sector with 26.10 percent, followed by the economy and finance sector with 15.73 percent, then the tourism, traditional industry, social and solidarity economy sector with 11.33 percent, followed by local authorities and their institutions with 9.31 percent, then the national education, primary education and sports sector with 8.90 percent, while the health, social protection and cooperative sector came in at 4.83 percent, reflecting the nature of the problems raised in the citizen's relationship with the administration.
