A coordination meeting was held today, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the headquarters of the Meknes prefecture, chaired by Mr. Abdelghani Essabar, the governor of the Meknes prefecture, in the presence of representatives of various concerned decentralized services, as well as security and local authorities. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the procedures and measures to ensure sufficient and regular market supply, and to enhance and intensify monitoring operations, in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
During this meeting, the governor emphasized the need to mobilize all stakeholders to ensure a continuous and adequate supply of various food items, especially those in high demand during the holy month, while ensuring supply stability and avoiding any imbalances that may affect the local market or affect the purchasing power of citizens. He also stressed the importance of continuous monitoring by the mixed regional and local committees, by following up on points of sale, markets, and commercial centers, and ensuring that traders respect the legal and regulatory controls governing market supply and competition rules, with strict enforcement of legal provisions against violators whenever necessary. Through the interventions of the various concerned services, it became clear that the expectations regarding essential consumer goods during Ramadan are positive, as an abundance of supply is expected for most products, which will meet the needs of consumers in the Meknes prefecture, and ensure relative price stability. At the end of the meeting, the governor reiterated his emphasis on the importance of adopting a proactive approach based on the accurate monitoring of the supply situation, and ensuring the availability of essential food items in sufficient quantities, at reasonable prices, and quality that meets the applicable health standards, across the various municipalities of the prefecture, with immediate response to citizens' complaints and grievances and the strengthening of communication mechanisms with the population.
