Government spokesman Mustapha Bahtat spoke about the discussion on the strike law.
Bahtat said at a press conference following the work of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday: “The law on strikes was discussed with the unions, and when social dialogue was established, it was not only to discuss fundamental issues, but also to undertake important reforms.”
Bahtat insisted that the strike is a constitutional right, saying: “Do we not have the social wisdom to sit down and discuss it and frame it organizationally and legally? This is what the government is doing in a serious, responsible and participatory dialogue with the unions.”
