Morocco has requested the Confederation of African Football to postpone the finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to begin next March, to a later date, to allow for the completion of the professional national championship competitions.
Contrary to what has been circulating in recent hours, Morocco has asked the continental football federation to change the timing of the tournament to after May 20th, to make way for the completion of local league matches, or to look for a country that wishes to host the competitions if the timing cannot be adjusted. The deputy sports minister of South Africa quickly announced that her country would host the tournament, while the Confederation of African Football is preparing to issue an official statement clarifying the details of the matter and putting an end to the circulating interpretations.
