HIBAPRESS – Rabat
In accordance with the provisions of Article 148 of the Constitution, the Parliament, in its two chambers, held a joint public session today dedicated to presenting a presentation by Zineb El Adoui, the First President of the Supreme Audit Council, on the Council's work for the years 2024-2025. She emphasized that financial courts play an essential preventive and pedagogical role that precedes their disciplinary role, by accompanying public administration and early warning of potential imbalances.
El Adoui highlighted that the preventive function of financial courts contributes to consolidating a culture of good governance and linking responsibility with accountability, through sharing observations and recommendations with various stakeholders, which allows for correcting paths and improving the performance of public utilities before reaching the stage of deterrence or follow-up. The First President of the Supreme Audit Council stressed that the pedagogical dimension constitutes a pivotal pillar in the work of financial courts, as it is a mechanism for framing public officials and enhancing their capabilities in the sound management of public finances, which ultimately serves the interest of the citizen and enhances trust in institutions.
