HIBAPRESS
Within the framework of continuous and proactive monitoring of the climate situation, and the activation of a preventive approach aimed at protecting lives and property before the risks escalate, and in view of the floods witnessed in some regions of the Kingdom, especially as a result of the noticeable increase in the level of valleys and watercourses, the public authorities, during the previous days, worked in close coordination between the various sectors and departments, on a comprehensive and proactive mobilization to confront this exceptional situation.
In this regard, and in implementation of the high royal instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, this operation witnessed an intensive field mobilization, with the deployment of units of the Royal Armed Forces in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other stakeholders, to frame the evacuation and transfer operations of citizens and ensure their smooth flow, with the utilization of all necessary logistical capabilities and human resources. And in the interest of the safety of citizens, the gradual evacuation of residents of a group of communities was adopted, according to a methodology that takes into account the degrees of danger and the extent of the expected damage, in addition to providing means of transportation for the affected persons, which, as of this morning, resulted in the evacuation and transfer of a total of 108,423 people, distributed as follows: Larache Province: 81,709 people (especially in the city of Ksar El Kebir, where the number of people who were evacuated and who left by their own means reached 85 percent of the city's population). Sidi Kacem Province: 9,728 people. Sidi Slimane Province: 2,853 people. Kenitra Province: 14,133 people. The set of measures adopted contributed to limiting the repercussions of this exceptional situation and ensuring the safety and security of all. The competent authorities also continued to support the affected population, by establishing a number of shelter camps and reception areas and providing various forms of necessary support, which alleviates the effects of these difficult circumstances and enhances the conditions of public safety.
