The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdelssamad Guiouh, inaugurated today, Wednesday, in the commune of Had Soualem, which is part of the province of Berrechid, the Lakhyayta II Hub logistics platform, a project aimed at strengthening the national logistics offer within the framework of an approach based on integration between the public and private sectors.
This project, which was implemented by the "La Voie Express" group on a covered area of over 56,000 square meters, constitutes a modern and integrated infrastructure, aimed at keeping pace with economic transformations at the Casablanca-Settat region level. The project also falls within the framework of developing supply chains at the national level.
In a speech on the occasion, Guiouh highlighted that this project falls within an integrated dynamic that combines the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and private actors.
He stressed that the ministry supports and encourages the development of logistics professions and logistics platforms, whether through areas prepared by the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Logistics Activities, or through initiatives led by the private sector, within a framework of integration.
On the other hand, the minister noted that the logistics sector is experiencing an upward development at the national level, in line with the high royal directives issued since 2010, which aim to strengthen this strategic sector, which enabled the distribution chains to be brought closer to citizens, and contribute to preserving the environment, and reducing urban congestion thanks to a better organization of distribution flows, as well as better control of the final prices paid by the consumer.
For his part, the General Manager of the "La Voie Express" group, Mouncef Belkhayat, explained that this infrastructure provides 70,000 additional locations for storing logistics platforms (Palettes) for the benefit of the national industry, which raises the total number of platforms under management to 500,000.
At the operational level, Belkhayat highlighted that the platform adopts a “comprehensive service” approach, through an integrated logistics offer that includes shipping, transit, storage, parcel services, as well as delivery, which enables the provision of a comprehensive service to customers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by, in particular, the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Abdellatif Maazouz, the General Manager of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Logistics Activities, Ghassan Mechrefi, and the Vice-President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Mehdi Tazi, in addition to a number of institutional officials and actors in the logistics sector.
The "Lakhyayta II Hub" logistics platform benefits from the provisions of the new investment charter, as it contributes significantly to structuring the local logistics offer and strengthening the logistics and industrial pole between Lakhyayta and Had Soualem.
It is worth noting in this context that the development of the logistics sector in Morocco is based on clear strategic orientations, including the integration of this sector within the priorities of the new investment charter, including the part related to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
This dynamic is also strengthened through the logistics support program for small and medium-sized enterprises “PME Supply Chain 2025–2029”, which aims to improve the competitiveness of logistics actors and support their digital transformation and enhance the sustainability of supply chains.
