Photos circulating from the road linking the city of Fez and the Hamria region in the Moulay Yacoub province documented a situation described by followers as "alarming," after an urban transport bus that was serving the route between Fez and Hamria got stuck in difficult conditions, revealing the fragility of the road infrastructure in the region due to the heavy rains that have fallen throughout this week.
According to information from the scene, the bus found itself stuck on the road, which caused traffic congestion and disrupted the movement of passengers, while citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the deterioration of the road condition and the absence of safety conditions, especially since this axis is used daily by the residents of the area in their travels towards Fez. In this context, a number of citizens expressed their regret that the bus that got stuck on the road was new and had only been in use for a few months, only to find itself in a situation that reflects a clear contradiction between modernizing the transport fleet and the continued suffering of roads and tracks. In light of this situation, residents are asking urgent questions about the reasons for the delay in official intervention, and where were the mechanisms of the concerned authorities, whether at the regional or regional level, especially since the matter concerns a public facility that directly affects the lives of citizens. Local actors believe that improving transportation is not limited to providing new buses only, but also requires the rehabilitation of roads and tracks and ensuring a minimum of safety and quality, so that the movement of citizens does not turn into a daily adventure.
