The Kingdom of Morocco participated in the international ministerial meeting on critical and rare minerals hosted in Washington, D.C., organized by the U.S. Department of State, with the participation of representatives from over fifty countries from different regions of the world. This meeting aims to enhance international cooperation in securing strategic mineral supply chains.
This meeting falls within the context of the growing global demand for critical minerals used in advanced technological industries, renewable energy, and the electric vehicle industry, at a time when the United States and its partners are seeking to diversify supply sources and reduce reliance on limited global suppliers.
The meeting saw the participation of a number of countries from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Arab world, including Morocco, where participants discussed cooperation and investment prospects, in addition to ways to develop joint frameworks based on sustainability and transparency in the exploitation of mineral resources.
