The Agbalou area, belonging to the Tangoub commune in Chefchaouen province, witnessed the collapse of a group of houses today, Friday, February 6th, as a result of large soil erosion, caused by the heavy rainfall that the region has been experiencing for several days.
Local data indicated that the continuous rains caused the soil to become saturated with water, which led to sudden landslides, causing serious damage to a number of residential buildings, some of which collapsed completely, while others were damaged to varying degrees.

A video clip circulating on social media revealed the extent of the losses caused by the incident, documenting scenes of collapsing houses and cracking others, amid a state of panic among the affected residents.
The photographer of the circulating video clip said that what happened "resembled an earthquake," confirming that "the entire area is gone," expressing the extent of the destruction that affected the residential area.
