The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia called on all Muslims on Sunday to look for the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan on Tuesday evening and to inform the nearest court of anyone who sees it with the naked eye or through binoculars.
The court clarified in an official statement that the observation of the crescent will be on the evening of Tuesday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Sha'ban for the year 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026, according to the Umm al-Qura calendar, emphasizing the importance of everyone's participation to ensure the accurate determination of the beginning of the month. The court added that whoever observes the crescent must register their testimony with the nearest court or contact a nearby center to facilitate procedures, calling on those wishing to contribute to the specialized committees to ensure cooperation on righteousness and piety and to serve the Islamic community.
