HIBAPRESS – I. As-Smlali
The programming schedule of national channels during the current Ramadan season is witnessing a noticeable shift, represented by the complete absence of "sitcoms," a decision that came in response to the widespread wave of criticism that has targeted these works in recent years from the public and critics alike.
This trend has received great popular support, as many considered it a necessary step to end the annual controversy over the poor quality of television comedy, and the beginning of a new phase that restores consideration for the taste of the Moroccan viewer, who is now demanding works that live up to his aspirations. In this context, the welcome was not limited to social media platforms only, but extended to include prominent artistic figures, as the actor Anas El Baz had expressed his deep satisfaction with this decision, interacting with the news with a kind of frankness and clarity. El Baz expressed his support for this trend through a brief post on his official Instagram account, in which he sufficed with the phrase "Congratulations," which summed up the feeling of a wide segment of professionals and the public who were tired of the repetition of consumed comedic patterns, which reflects a collective desire to open the field to serious drama and purposeful comedy that relies on the depth of writing and the quality of production, especially in a month characterized by the peak of television viewing.
