HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
As part of its ongoing involvement in social initiatives with a health dimension, the Istiqlal Youth – Al Hoceima branch organized, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM (14:00), at the Istiqlal Party headquarters in Al Hoceima, an awareness meeting for patients with diabetes. The meeting included the distribution of blood sugar meters and medications to a number of needy cases.
Yassine El Fakiri, a practicing physician, led this meeting, presenting an awareness presentation in which he discussed the nature of diabetes, its causes, complications, and ways to prevent it, with a focus on the importance of regular monitoring of blood sugar levels, following a balanced diet, and adopting a healthy lifestyle based on regular physical activity. The meeting also provided an opportunity to open a direct discussion with the attendees, where the questions of patients and their families were addressed, and practical guidance was provided on how to manage the disease on a daily basis, in a way that limits its complications and improves quality of life. In the context of the solidarity dimension of the initiative, the Istiqlal Youth supervised the distribution of blood sugar meters to a number of patients in vulnerable situations, in a step aimed at enabling them to regularly monitor their health status and promote a culture of prevention and early diagnosis. The Istiqlal Youth in Al Hoceima confirmed, in a speech on the occasion, that this initiative falls within its work program aimed at being close to citizens and actively engaging in their daily issues, especially those related to health and social protection, considering that youth work is not limited to political framing, but extends to include social and humanitarian roles. The activity was attended by a number of citizens, in an atmosphere characterized by a spirit of responsibility and positive interaction, which reflects the importance of such initiatives in promoting health awareness within the local community.
