The government council approved, on Thursday, draft law number 68.25 amending and supplementing law number 80.12 concerning the National Agency for the Evaluation and Assurance of Quality in Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
The Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, the official spokesperson for the government, Mostafa Baitas, explained during a press conference following the weekly meeting of the council, that the draft law comes to update the legal and institutional framework related to the evaluation of the components of higher education and scientific research in order to improve and adapt them to the best practices recognized globally, through the precise definition of the tasks assigned to this agency, as well as its relationship with other institutional actors involved in the field of higher education and scientific research evaluation, with the addition of new tasks regarding the evaluation operations it performs, in addition to changing its name to "Moroccan Agency for the Evaluation and Assurance of Quality in Higher Education and Scientific Research".
