A spokesperson for the Pakistani army announced the killing of 274 officials and fighters of the Taliban regime since Thursday evening, as part of ongoing operations.
The spokesperson explained that air strikes were carried out on Afghan territory, targeting military objectives in 22 locations, confirming that the operations came within the framework of specific military movements. The army spokesperson also reported the killing of at least 12 Pakistani soldiers during these developments, according to the Reuters news agency. Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced, early Friday morning, entering an "open war" against the "Taliban" movement in Afghanistan, stressing that Pakistan's patience had run out regarding the escalating threats. In a statement, Asif accused the "Taliban" movement of turning Afghanistan into an "Indian colony," as he described it, and also accused the Pakistani minister of the Afghan movement of gathering terrorists from around the world and exporting terrorism. Asif wrote via his account on the "X" platform, in a post that read: "After the withdrawal of NATO forces, we expected peace to prevail in Afghanistan and for the Taliban to focus on the interests of the Afghan people and regional stability, but the movement has turned Afghanistan into an Indian colony." He added that the movement "gathered terrorists from all over the world in Afghanistan and began exporting terrorism, depriving its people of the most basic human rights, and stripping women of the rights guaranteed to them by Islam."
