Around 20 people were injured, some seriously, after a tram derailed and collided with a building in Milan, northern Italy, according to local sources.
The accident occurred on Viale Vittorio Veneto, when the tram of line number 9 veered off the tracks before crashing into a nearby building. This line connects Piazza della Repubblica and the Porta Venezia area, both of which are vital areas with heavy traffic in the city. Initial data suggests that the tram may have hit a number of pedestrians, while unconfirmed information indicates the possibility of people trapped under it immediately after the incident. Ambulance and emergency teams rushed to the scene, where the injured were transferred to hospitals to receive necessary treatment, while the competent authorities launched an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
