Elements of the Judicial Police Department in Rabat, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, managed, in the early hours of Monday, March 2, to thwart an international smuggling operation of a shipment consisting of 1 ton and 190 kilograms of “Chira” hashish.
The initial data for this operation indicates that police elements monitored a utility vehicle carrying forged license plates, which was abandoned near a residential complex in the city of Bouznika after its tires burst, and on which 29 packages were found, with a total weight of 1 ton and 190 kilograms of Chira hashish prepared for international smuggling. Security operations and field investigations are currently ongoing under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to identify the presumed suspects involved in the possession and smuggling of this drug shipment. This security operation falls within the context of the joint efforts made by the services of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance to combat the international smuggling of drugs.
