Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, confirmed on Tuesday that "the launch of rockets yesterday came from outside the South Litani area, where the Lebanese army is deployed," stressing that "the government has decided to ban the military activity of "Hezbollah" inside Lebanon, with the aim of restricting the decision of peace and war to the state only," according to his expression.
Aoun explained to members of the "Quintet Committee" (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, America, France, Qatar) that "the decision is sovereign and final and there is no going back," adding that "the Lebanese army has been entrusted with implementing this decision in all Lebanese regions to ensure security and stability within the country," according to the National News Agency in Lebanon. The Lebanese President pointed out that "this measure reflects Lebanon's commitment to preserving its sovereignty and controlling unofficial weapons within its borders, at a time when the region is witnessing increasing escalation between Israel and Iran."
